We know what Power Gems did this summer
This summer, Power Gems embarked on a grand tour, with Patrick travelling throughout Europe to new and expanding markets for our range of high-speed electronic ballasts.
In July, Patrick visited Italy and met with some of the country’s biggest film equipment rental houses. Patrick was delighted to visit ‘Hollywood on the Tiber’, to explore opportunities to supply facilities in Rome, Milan, Bari and Bolzano. Patrick showcased the new ballasts – EB2418P 24kW location lighting ballast and the 3000W Xenon DC300P.
Malta also came up for discussion, with a number of international productions choosing the island for major projects. The demands of location filming are just what Phil had in mind when developing the Rolling Rack Series; 19” rack mounted ballasts capable of withstanding even the harshest conditions. With no trailing cables to trip over in the Mediterranean sun, we’ve removed all risks except perhaps failing to apply enough sunscreen.
Many Italian film companies have subsidiaries in Budapest, and Patrick followed their path to make the Hungarian city his next stop. There he was delighted to see how the latest delivery of 18K and 4K ballasts were settling in to their new home, at a major film and TV equipment rental company. Power Gems ballasts can be used in many different ways, and visiting in person was a great opportunity to understand the challenges of the Hungarian market. We don’t like to hide behind email, which is why Patrick travels extensively to meet customers all over Europe and beyond.
Finally, to Amsterdam for the biggest broadcasting industry event, the IBC2015. Amsterdam was also the destination for various friends we made along the way. A reunion over an Amstel or two provided a fitting end to a fascinating trip.
