MBS Pinewood and Mel’s Studios trained on using Power Gems
Part of our after-sales service is to provide training to get the best out of Power Gems ballasts. Each year, we welcome visitors to Power Gems HQ in Manchester – around this time in 2017, Grau Luminotecnia, the official Power Gems dealer in Spain, arranged a trip by lighting rental companies Cinelux, IluminacionFM and Tripede.
This time, it was the turn of Mel’s Studio in Montreal and MBS Pinewood Lighting based in London, on separate visits, to spend time with three of our test engineers – Trevor, Kevin and Nigel – in our upgraded testing and repair facilities
We’ve been supplying Mel’s Studios (Locations Michel Trudel/Mel’s Cité du Cinéma Studio), one of Canada’s largest production facilities, for more than a decade and three years ago they were amongst the first to invest when the EB1812P went into production. Sacha Lapierre and Stephane Turgeon (pictured above) came over from Montreal for four days to fine-tune their understanding of the full range.
In Summer 2015, MBS Pinewood took a major delivery of ballasts – from 575W through to top of the range 24kW – for their facility outside London. We customised their ballasts (see below) in ‘Pinewood’ green to stop them getting mixed up with other rental stock while out on location.
At Power Gems we’re here to help you troubleshoot and resolve problems faster. We also provide enhanced training, and after three days, Kevin Wilks, Jason Tomes and Nick Rogers left feeling ready to apply their product knowledge to the ballasts in their rental stock.
We’re glad Sacha, Stephane, Kevin, Jason and Nick found the time to come and learn more about Power Gems. We always receive valuable feedback on the ballasts from our customer base use, such as their least and most favourite, as well as what could be improved. Never one to shy away from innovation, Phil’s already coming up with new ideas – watch this space.
