Power Gems in Manchester – back to normal
On Monday 6 July 2020, Power Gems will be back to normal, as Covid-19 restrictions are eased.
Refreshed, revitalised and ready to go, the Manchester facility will be operating a four day week (closed on Friday) until the end of July.
Following the UK Government advice on Covid-19, Power Gems temporarily shut down the headquarters in Irlam, Manchester.
However, we have been handling orders since the pandemic began. A core team was able to get selected orders out on time. If you placed an order before 24 March, you shouldn’t (we hope!) have noticed a delay in getting your ballasts.

Making ballasts in a Covid-19 environment
We have taken measures to keep our premises infection-free. You probably don’t need to know the ins and outs (observing one-way systems, keeping more than 2 metres apart), needless to say, there are increased hygiene measures.
Protecting our team is the number one priority. As is the safety of our customers. And ensuring our ballasts are made in premises that conform to the highest level of health and safety. We are a member of PLASA – the Professional Lighting and Sound Association. This means we achieve standards of quality, independently endorsed by fellow industry professionals.
OK, that’s three priorities and, as my teacher would say, ‘Brian, you are only allowed to have one’. Fortunately my name is not Brian.
What does it mean for you?
We’re restricting external visitors until further notice. That’s right, we’re withdrawing our offer of making you a cuppa if you happen to be in the area. Brutal but necessary.
Otherwise, you shouldn’t notice much of a difference.
You can call or email, as you normally would.
Our sales and aftercare departments continue to support customer enquiries and offer technical support.
If you have any questions about how we’re responding to Covid-19, please email sales@powergems.com
