This year, the fourth annual manufacturer’s garage sale was bigger and better than ever, with a much bigger turnout of over 600 people showing up at Matthews Studio Equipment premises in Burbank, California. Production professionals from as far afield as Canada, New York, Michigan and Florida, in town for Cine Gear, chose to join the locals for an afternoon of product demonstrations, live music and refreshments. With temperatures reaching a balmy 90 degrees, a bottle of water became the must-have accessory when shopping for a new ballast or two.
Dan and Chip acclimatised quickly to the heat and the crowd, coming straight from manning the Power Gems booth at Cine Gear. Some visitors at the Garage Sale knew exactly what they were looking for – great deals and discounts – and others were interested to hear what was on offer regarding the next generation of high speed ballasts.
