Did Cine Gear like Power Gems new LED power supplies?
We can’t speak for everyone who came along to Paramount Studios for the Cine Gear Expo 2018. After all, the show is growing with over 16,000 production professionals attending over the two days. But those visitors to the Power Gems Booth on New York Street, seem to share one opinion: the new LED power supplies should be favoured when we go into full production this autumn.
We are entering the LED market with two unique products: a 600W/900W and a 1200W/1800W power supply. Both feature:
- Power supply and driver integrated into one unit.
- 6 continuous current output drivers.
- Flicker-free at all dimming levels.
- Optically isolated serial input and output interface (can support DMX).
No one wants to design in a vacuum, and Phil was keen to find out how the new additions would be used by those of you who work in broadcast, movie and event lighting. He says:
“I like to get feedback early on in the development process before the design gets too locked down. The informal atmosphere of Cine Gear is a great place to do this, and you’re guaranteed to have conversations with the leading industry practitioners.”
The working prototypes were shown exclusively at Cine Gear, alongside the expanded range of HMI high speed 1,000Hz ballasts. With so much going on at the Power Gems booth, we had to operate a shift system: Chip, Dan, Pat and Phil taking turns to explore a fraction of the product demonstrations from the other 300+ exhibitors.
We’re already looking forward to Cine Gear 2019.
