Move along, nothing to see here

The repair shelves in Power Gems Corporation in Los Angeles are empty. Never have we been more proud of an empty space than we are of the shelves where ballasts used to patiently wait their turn until picked up by one of the after-sales team.

The day that the shelves became clear again – since last April when we moved to our new bigger facility in Santa Clarita – General Manager, Jeremy Walsh felt it was important to perform some symbolic act.

After all, you never know when an anthropologist might be watching. Swinging burning sage over the latest ballast, the EB180PD, sounded the right kind of thing. But he didn’t want to set off the smoke alarms.

So instead, Jeremy ceremoniously posed for one photo, because this moment deserves to be recorded for posterity. Then, on noticing a new delivery (seen in the background), he went to make sure it was unpacked and dealt with immediately.

The next ballast coming in for repair will be quickly seen to and turned around by fast-thinking service engineers saving days of filming time. To him, this is the ultimate Power Gems repair service.
