Bigger, better, brighter. Power Gems showcasing the latest innovations at Cine Gear 2023
Join the Power Gems team at Cine Gear 2023 which returns to Paramount Studios backlot in Hollywood on Friday, 2 June and Saturday, 3 June. Innovative additions to the Power Gems range on display will include the GEMtile LED ceiling panel, the PWM40 40-channel LED controller, and the GEN 2 18kW high speed ballast.
There’s never a dull moment at Cine Gear and we speak as veterans: we’ve been coming to the annual exhibition to meet customers and our friends in the industry for the last 25 years.
Cine Gear is being held this year during the ongoing WGA writers’ strike. The show will welcome 260 exhibitors and host more than 20 educational panels, screenings and endless networking opportunities.
Last year’s much smaller event (due to pandemic travel restrictions) coincided with the ninth Summit of Americas event, which was held at the same venue, and Kamala Harris put in an appearance (sort of).
Always guaranteeing a bright light, the Power Gems booth (stand 123 on New York Street) will be lit by the revolutionary GEMtile, a 600 mm x 600 mm (2ft by 2ft) LED ceiling panel light

EB1812P GEN 2
Power Gems released the GEN2 18KW/12KW/9KW/6KW high speed ballast, which works in the harshest conditions. The GEN 2 has been tried and tested in demanding environments – in high humidity, wind and rain – around the globe. The PCB boards are coated with an advanced water and corrosion-resistant fluoropolymer to protect against condensation. As with all our HMI lighting ballasts, GEN 2 features the Power Gems innovative modular design, with 1000HZ high speed and Autoscan as standard.
PWM40
A high power (3kW) power supply and LED PWM driver for up to 40 channels of 12V or 24V LED light source, such as ribbon or panels. Initially created for NBC Universal and in use at Sky Studios Elstree, the PWM40 by Power Gems offers an off-the-shelf solution for control of LED ribbon and fixtures on sound stages, boasting a high channel count, very high-capacity built-in power supply and lever release connectors.

The Power Gems team – Patrick McGuane, Jeremy Walsh, Phil Ellams and Chip Harley – will be on hand to showcase the full range of electronic ballasts and the new range of LED control products.
Patrick and Phil will be flying in from the UK, while Jeremy and Chip won’t have far to travel from our facility in Van Nuys.
The next stop for the Power Gems team is EuroCineExpo, the European show for everyone involved in cinematography, TV and film – to be held in Munich, Germany, on 30 June and 1 July.
