An escape with ballasts to snowy Toronto

We like to start the year with the dry heat of CABSAT at Dubai, and move to BSC Expo in London to adjust to the cooler air temperature before plunging into a freezing Toronto for the appropriately named William F White February Freeze.

CABSAT, the largest broadcast trade show in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, is held in Dubai every year. On January 14, our Director of Sales & Marketing, Patrick McGuane, was so busy talking to customers that he forgot to take any photos. The Romans recognised that going between extreme temperatures can induce a heart attack, which is why they designed their baths with a tepidarium between the hot rooms and plunge pool. We like to call this place, Britain, which was the location for BSC Expo, held in Battersea, shortly after CABSAT on 2 and 3 February. Patrick welcomed visitors to our booth, where he demonstrated the latest additions to our range of high speed ballasts.

On Tuesday, February 6, William F White International hosted their annual technology showcase the February Freeze. The show attracted more than 1,000 production professionals eager to test the latest equipment available from over 40 of the world’s top vendors, including Power Gems. The warm welcome always makes it worth having to brave the cold – nothing compares to the 2015 show when the temperature dropped to -18C
