Taking a closer look at Power Gems in Miami
During November Phil and Patrick visited the States, taking in the East and West Coast. Their first stop was Miami where they spent time with one of our high speed ballast customers in Florida, Miami Filmtrade.
Filmtrade is one of the biggest rental companies in Miami; it’s been servicing productions in Florida and the Caribbean for over 25 years. During this time John has assembled an impressive rental inventory and last year he invested in our new range of high speed electronic ballasts. The Power Gems visit marked the 12 month anniversary of taking delivery of our ballasts, and we were keen to receive feedback. The owner of Filmtrade, John Banner is very enthusiastic about being able to lead the Miami film community into the new Power Gems product line:
“We have had a terrific year, and the advent of high speed options for our customers, and the ability of the Power Gems ballast to power multiple wattage heads, has been very important to us. We do many island jobs where the customer feels they need to order spares. With Power Gems we can send one ballast that will cover four different units, so we don’t have to send four units as spares, just the one.
At the end of the day what separates Power Gems is the people; they care about the product so they make it easy to get parts and to have people available on the ground to make sure that rental companies needs are taken care of.”

From Miami Phil and Patrick flew out to the West Coast to our Los Angeles facility in Van Nuys, to meet up with new hire Dan Basso and West Coast stalwart, Chip Harley.
