Power Gems opens new Service Centre in Shanghai
The world’s leading high speed ballast designer and manufacturer is offering after sales support from new premises in China.
Power Gems has a new service centre (above) in Shanghai, in partnership with Shanghai Meizeng Testing Technology Co Ltd (‘Meizeng’). This latest addition extends Power Gems after-sales support available to customers worldwide, bringing faster repair times to customers in China.

“Meizeng are very familiar with the Power Gems range – having been involved with our vehicle crash test range for a number of years,” said Phil during a visit, with Patrick, to Shanghai to finalise arrangements with Mr Allen Jin, General Manager (left).
The technical service centre, located in the Jiading District, holds an extensive inventory of components and power modules so that repairs can be carried out swiftly and efficiently. The process is made even easier and quicker due to the unique slide-in design of Power Gems modules. Should you wish to, you can send your ballast in for repair, by technical experts at Meizeng.
Customers in China are advised to send an email to Power Gems technical support first or contact your local sales dealer this way, and we’ll ensure your ballast doesn’t need to come in unnecessarily.
According to Patrick: “Mr Allen Jin ensures that the technical team are well-supported and he operates an extremely organised and clean facility. We are confident in their ability to carry out all levels of technical operations across our product range.”

During a tour of the new facility, Phil and Patrick spent time with Mr Hu Yanzhao and Mr Guan Weifeng (right) members of the technical team trained in product service and support. “Mr Hu and his colleagues have an in-depth understanding of Power Gems products and are able to carry out repairs down to component level.”
All Power Gems ballasts are made in the UK. A team of fully qualified engineers and skilled assemblers construct and test products on site. Over the last few years, we’ve opened new service centres to better serve the needs of our customers. The Shanghai facility ensures repairs, made with official Power Gems components, across the whole range of high speed ballasts for film and location lighting.
