Power Gems unveils LED range at IBC 2019

What’s new or familiar at IBC2019? Here with Patrick McGuane (right) is Antonio Cazzaniga of ONVIDEO, the authorised dealer for Power Gems in Italy. Antonio has been working with Power Gems for the last four years and is a regular visitor to the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), so a familiar face.

As for the innovative, across 15 halls of the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam, almost 60,000 broadcast professionals gathered from around the world for the unveiling of new products. On the Power Gems booth, Patrick’s demonstration included the new range of LED drivers and systems.

We were pleased to explain to visitors why we were making a big show of LED, not least the banner visible from the other side of the hall! From enquiries during IBC 2019, which closed on 17 September, work has begun on a number of custom-design products for LED.

Custom design for LED products

Most of the LED systems we deliver involve customisation, with a host of features such as displays, micro-controllers, DMX, RDM and advanced cooling solutions. Dr Phil Ellams, co-owner and head of product design at Power Gems, fast-tracks innovative power supply systems, back at our headquarters in Manchester. He is one of the best power engineers, responsible for introducing innovations such as Autoscan, Crystal Locking, multi-connectivity and modular design. Technology pioneered at Power Gems, such as Autoscan, has become the industry standard.

Power Gems products are available in 50 countries through a network of dealers. Also at the IBC was Ozgur Basaran of Ozgur Light, who is the new authorised dealer for Turkey.
