Power Gems launch new theatre range
Power Gems has collaborated with STS and K5600 to provide a seamless lighting solution for the theatre market. STS is a Gelnhausen-based lighting consultancy owned by Stefan Schmidt, who is very well known in the HMI lighting market. Lighting equipment manufacturers K5600 are old pals and long-standing partners of Power Gems.
The theatre range consists of fixtures with low light leakage packaged with mechanical dimming shutters, and Power Gems ballasts have been adapted to give you:

- Extra square-wave rounding for super-quiet operation
- DMX at no extra cost
- Lightweight for easy rigging
- Temperature controlled fans to minimise noise
- Auxiliary transformers for compatibility with fan-cooled fixtures such as D’Artagnan
The key products in the range of ballasts are:
EB960P: 9kW for powerful and dramatic lighting effects
EB425P: 4kW Extremely lightweight and quiet
EB250P: 2.5kW great for followspots
EB250PR & EB425PR: 2.5kW & 4kW 19” Rack-mounted ballasts – extremely compact ballasts for permanent installation
All three companies shared a booth at Stage|Set|Scenery in Berlin last week (9-11 June).
Stefan (pictured) was ably assisted by his brother Benjamin Schmidt who is employed as technical manager and teacher at Theaterakademie in (the Prince Regent Theatre) in Munich.
Meanwhile Phil and Patrick were delighted to welcome visitors to our booth at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. You can always count on Power Gems for flexible and robust electronic ballasts suitable for driving metal halide arc lamps. As we were happy to demonstrate, to what seemed to be the entire 7,500 people who attended over the 3-day event.
