Power Gems at Cine Gear 2017 – better and hotter?

You may not have been able to attend Cine Gear, held at Paramount Studios on June 2-3, but we wouldn’t want you to miss out. Here’s a selection of pictures taken by the Power Gems team – Dan Basso and Chip Harley from Van Nuys, down the road, and Phil Ellams and Patrick McGuane who flew in from Manchester, UK.  

Cine Gear was even better (and hotter) than last year, with a full crowd in New York Street packed around the Power Gems booth. We always enjoy the informality of Cine Gear – it’s a show where you can’t go more than six feet without being able to pick up and play with new equipment. In our case, two new additions to our range of high speed ballasts – the battery-powered ballast, the EB180PD and the EB57P capable of powering ARRI, Dedo, Kobold ad K56 HMI fixtures. The show tends to attract professional camera crew looking for products that will work in all environments, so the EB57P, in particular, was met with great enthusiasm.

There would have been more pictures, but we were too busy catching up with friends of Power Gems. Just like when you go on holiday, you’re sure to bump into a neighbour, we met up with PKE Lighting who are based near Power Gems in Manchester. Then, of course, we wanted to catch up with William F White, Paramount, MBS, K5600, Matthews’ Studio Equipment…we could go on.
