Power Gems ballasts at Micro Salon Italia 2017
Power Gems exhibited ballasts at Micro Salon Italia, the Italian cinema exhibition organised by AIC (the Italian Association of Cinematographers) in Rome on March 17th and 18th. The Italian event dedicated to the world of film production took place in the prestigious and historical setting of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
We thought last year’s venue would be hard to beat, but couldn’t fail to be impressed by Italy’s national film school. Overall this year’s Micro Salon Italia was a real success for both the many exhibitors – with more than 40 stands – and thousands of visitors from across the film industry.
Those who came to the Power Gems booth were interested in seeing the next generation of high speed ballasts. Many were curious to find out more about the latest addition to the Power Gems range, the EB180PD ballast which operates on both AC mains and battery power. The new EB180PD ballast can run six different lamp fixtures from one ballast unit; its versatility makes this HMI ballast perfect for the rigorous and unpredictable demands of location shooting or filming on studio set.
The two-day exhibition was brought to a close by Vittorio Storaro, with a focus on digital cinematography, further highlighting the need for high quality light in shooting. Choosing a Power Gems ballast takes one issue off the table – reliability over a wide range of climatic and power supply conditions.
