Power Gems bring power to MBS and Captain America
Major movie makers MBS have taken delivery of the full range of Power Gems ballasts in the US and the UK. The American order went to the MBS Studios in Atlanta to service a number of movies including the latest Captain America 3: Civil War which began filming in April. While in the UK we fulfilled a substantial order for Pinewood MBS, providing significant numbers of high speed ballasts from 575W through to the top of the range 24kW.
Earlier this year MBS announced their partnership with Pinewood to provide lighting equipment for the film studios at Pinewood and Shepperton, near London. The Pinewood studio is set to expand, which is good news for Power Gems who now supply MBS divisions on both sides of the pond. We manufacture using different colour schemes – Pinewood Shepperton historically is associated with green, hence the green-lid ballasts you see in the picture.
Customised ballasts

Theatre range attracts interest
The MBS orders complete a successful first half of the year, with a number of strong orders for newly developed products, according to Phil:
“Everyone wants innovation but often no one wants to be the first to test it out. That’s not what we’re seeing this time, with strong interest in our new theatre range from a number of European venues.”

A well-received product is an extra incentive to keep on innovating.
