Power Gems ballasts at BIRTV 2018
At BIRTV in Beijing, China, Power Gems showcased the next generation of high speed 1000Hz HMI ballasts on our booth. Patrick McGuane grabbed the opportunity – for the third year – to introduce visitors to the delights of crystal locking mode, flicker-free operation and modular design.
The biggest broadcast event in Asia, the Beijing International Radio, TV & Film (BIRTV) was held over four days (22nd – 25th August). On the Friday evening, we joined our trusted partners, China Film Equipment Company (CFEC) for a dinner, where we had the good fortune to meet guests from GFM Munich, Rosco, KFX Technology, Kino Flo and Black-Tek GmbH amongst others.
China is where it’s all happening – it’s a buoyant market, reflected in the positive vibe amongst the broadcast professionals from rental companies and production studios who stopped by the booth for a Power Gems demo. We also had our fair share of manufacturers eyeing up the competition. While we can’t stop knockoffs, there’s sure to be a clear difference in quality. All Power Gems are manufactured in the UK, with the highest quality components and advanced design, and sold direct or through authorised dealers.
Our distributor in China is CFEC, based in Beijing and Shanghai. Our man in China, Kevin Liu Kai is fully trained in Power Gems and with the help of his team, exhibiting at BIRTV was a huge success.
In the end, the best way to have eyes on the ground is to bring your own. While Patrick is based in the UK, he’s a regular visitor to China. Just ask, and he’ll tell you where you can find the nearest hot pot restaurant.
