Power Gems ballast assembler secures place at Trafford College
A new academic year brings new beginnings. Ben Webb is off to Trafford College for a two-year BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, making him the first of our assembly team to be sponsored by Power Gems. Ben is looking forward to studying part-time, attending by day-release, for the qualification designed to boost his electronic knowledge.
It seems like the years have flown by since Ben joined Power Gems in 2010, aged just 18. Many of our team join straight from school or university, and we like to grow and educate our own talent pool. We employ a team of fully qualified engineers and skilled assemblers who construct and test our range of high speed electronic ballasts on site.
Phil says: “We’ll be giving Ben plenty of support as he juggles studying and a busy workload. There’s a shortage of skills needed to bring to the market products based on the latest technology and techniques. We’re looking to the future and doing all we can to develop our workforce, to give Ben and Power Gems the skills to grow the business.”
