MBS Studios says Power Gems ‘invaluable partner’
Power Gems has been an invaluable partner in supporting MBS’s rental businesses around the world, according to Jeremy Hariton, Executive Vice President of the MBS Group.
“Their extensive product line of film and television ballasts has been a cost-saving and reliable part of our operations from the start and the team always approaches our relationship more like a partnership than a vendor arrangement. Patrick, Dan and the entire Power Gems team are a trusted resource to our company,” he says.
If twenty years in business has taught us anything, it’s never to assume you know what your customers are thinking. So it’s heartening to have our enthusiasm reflected back in more than just repeat orders.
Over the last few years, Power Gems has supplied high speed ballasts to MBS Studios in Los Angeles and Atlanta, with significant orders shipped across North America to their expanding rental facilities. Service centres in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York help with any local repair issues.
In 2015, MBS Atlanta invested in the full range of Power Gems ballasts to service a number of films including Marvel Entertainment’s Captain America: Civil War.
While in the same year, we supplied over $1m worth of ballasts to Pinewood MBS Lighting, the newly-formed division of MBS in the UK following their partnership with Pinewood Studios.
The substantial shipment of ballasts – from 575W through to top of the range 24kW – were destined for the film studios at Pinewood and Shepperton, near London.
We produced customised green-lidded ballasts (see picture) – Pinewood Shepperton has historically been associated with the colour – to differentiate the rental stock.
MBS in Los Angeles recently took delivery of the latest shipment of Power Gems product from our facility down the road in Van Nuys. Hollywood, like our facilities in Atlanta and Manchester, always holds extensive stocks of finished ballasts ready for sale – you never have to wait long to receive your order.
