MBS Pinewood visit Power Gems for training and factory tour
Power Gems in Manchester had visitors this week from UK’s Pinewood MBS Lighting when three colleagues came for training and a tour of the factory.
During the visit, Fabio Feliciano, Rheanna McKenzie and Chris Norman spent time with our test engineers who gave an insight into the Power Gems manufacturing process.

Fabio, Rheanna and Chris work at MBS Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, in the lighting rental test, maintenance and preparation test area.
Pinewood MBS frequently hire out Power Gems 1000Hz high speed ballasts to productions based at the UK’s premier studio facility, from 575W through to 24kW.
To stop their ballasts getting mixed up with other rental stock, we customise them in a distinctive ‘Pinewood’ green, and it was their first chance to see our paint systems as well as assembly and testing facilities.
The three days were carefully planned to provide practical training on the full range of Power Gems ballasts in MBS Pinewood’s rental fleet. Topics covered included how to maintain the modular design range, identify fault codes and troubleshoot system failures.
The team gained a great deal from seeing the advantages of the modular design, which is much easier to maintain than traditional electronic power supplies; and appreciated how simple it is to get technical support.
The trip as a whole was a chance to bond with Patrick and the test engineers, strengthening the direct relationship all our customers enjoy with the technical team for after-sales service and support.
Plus Rheanna celebrated her 21st birthday while she was up for training.
