Talented young engineer joins Power Gems in LA
Power Gems has taken on a new member of staff at its Los Angeles facility, attracting top talent from UCLA. The latest hire, Dean Gunapala, is a graduate student in electrical engineering who already has a wide range of industrial experience under his belt.
Dean joins our expanding global team, part of the ongoing investment in technical support for Power Gems products. He brings experience gained with Californian research company HRL Laboratories, Soltec Corporation, Data Exchange Corporation and Nonlinear Ion Dynamics.
Power Gems continues to focus on providing the best products and service available. Dean has been brought in to help service and repair our range of high-speed electronic ballasts and provide technical support for customers in the North American market.
“Despite being a relatively small enterprise, we believe it’s important to go out and attract top-flight engineering talent into roles they might not have considered. On this occasion we flew out to America as part of our recruitment strategy,” says Phil. “We’re delighted to welcome Dean into the Power Gems LA operation, where he will be guided by our expert engineer Carlos Perez, and in the new year he’ll visit our headquarters in the UK for an extended factory training course.”
The latest appointment supports our growth plans. Check back for more news of our expansion.
