TÜV approval – Recognition for safety standards
Power Gems has achieved cUL approval on 3 of our products: EB125P, EB180P and EB425P. The internationally-recognised safety standard reflects our long term commitment to best practice in safety performance. This safety certification has been awarded by TÜV Rheinland, one of the best known and most respected names in safety testing.
As a responsible manufacturer Power Gems always aims to meet the highest product standards, however it is becoming increasingly common for our customers to require products which have third-party safety test certification such as cUL. This frequently arises in situations where equipment is used in close proximity to members of the public such as arenas, auditoriums, red-carpet events, or film-making in public spaces.
The ‘c’ in cUL confirms compliance with the particular requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code which will be helpful for our customers in that market where spot-checks by electrical inspectors are common.
As you’ve come to expect from Power Gems, you get all the latest features included in the price and cUL is no exception, we will be providing cUL-marked product with nothing added to the cost.
What is TÜV? TÜV is a German-based independent product-testing and certification body that requires rigorous testing of components for safety, quality and usability.
The influence of TÜV has spread far and wide. While cUL approval is not compulsory on a national level, it can be mandated by insurance companies and shows we have achieved a level of safety and quality that other non-certified manufacturers may not have. Each ballast is designed and engineered to specific standards and thoroughly tested. The audit and approval process has taken a considerable amount of time and effort, but we see adherence to TÜV’s standards as a mark of distinction.
