BSC Expo – Power Gems unveils battery-powered ballast
BSC Expo was a great success for our new Power Gems EB180PD ballast which operates on both AC mains and battery power.
Visitors to the Power Gems stand liked the concept of an ultra-flexible ballast and were interested to be shown the new product, demonstrated by Patrick McGuane, Head of Sales.
He says: “Thanks to everyone who stopped by our stand at Battersea Park this year. We are very grateful for the interest in the new EB180PD ballast. After months of developing, designing and testing to make sure the product is completely ready, we go straight from the show into full production in Manchester.”
Orders are being taken for the EB180PD, which can drive 6 different lamp types using AC mains 95-265V, and also battery power from 48 to 60V.
BSC Expo is the premier event in the UK for the film and TV production industry and traditionally attracts visitors from the UK, but increasingly from Europe and America. In fact, we picked up many enquiries from outside of Europe.
The BSC Expo, in general, looked fantastic (see below), which is all thanks to the huge amount of effort everyone put in. 2017 visitor numbers exceeded last year, with a record attendance of 4,051 over the two days with many choosing to attend both days.

The BSC Expo returns to Battersea Park next year, on 2 and 3 February 2018. We fully expect that it will be even bigger than this year.
