Power Gems, Joker Bugs and Photon Beards at IBC 2015
Patrick is fresh back from Amsterdam where he represented Power Gems at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2015. The broadcasting trade show attracted over 55,000 visitors from more than 170 countries over the four days (11-15 September).

As is his wont, Patrick spent much of the time criss-crossing Hall 11, meeting up with friends and colleagues – once again the turnout was first class. Although Power Gems decided not to exhibit this year we had plenty of our products on display. Our friends at K5600 Lighting always take a booth and had great success with their Joker Bug lighting kits and Alpha lighting fixture range. They demonstrated their 2500/4000W and 6000/9000W light fixtures and chose Power Gems high speed ballasts to complete the system.
This year for the first time, we welcomed the opportunity to show our EB125P high speed unit on the Photon Beard booth also in Hall 11. The TUV-approved, EB125P only needs a single connector to operate up to three different wattages, 575W, 800W or 1200W. The highly adaptable electronic ballast unit was presented with the Photon Beard Platinum Blonde 1200W HMI linear lamp open-faced unit.
According to Photon Beard’s Peter Daffarn, sales enquiries were particularly good at this year’s showcase. Given Photon Beard are the oldest entertainment lighting company in the world, manufacturing since 1882, this can only be taken as a sign of good times ahead.
