Watch our new short film – Power Gems celebrates the 10,000 module

Power Gems has welcomed the 10,000 module off the production line at the corporate headquarters in Manchester. As part of the celebrations Phil Ellams, who heads a team of 24 responsible for the product design and manufacturing, took his camera to follow the module through production to the customer taking delivery.

We invite you to watch A Day In the Life of a LF150P Module – the 10,000 Module. It gives you a short (2:39 mins) look at the making of the LF150P, the building block used to make all Power Gems products up to 6,000W.

From the arrival of the core components at Power Gems HQ in Irlam, outside Manchester, we follow the module through all the stages of ballast production – final assembly by highly trained technicians, exhaustive testing procedures and specialist packaging. While all Power Gems are manufactured in the UK and shipped worldwide, this particular unit is staying closer to home. Sales Director, Patrick McGuane visits Manchester-based PKE Lighting to deliver the HMI ballast containing the 10,000th module.

A big thank you to Kimberley Mills, Kevin Eckersley and Michal Nazarewski for lending us their time and expertise in the making of the film.

To be in with the chance of appearing in our next film, simply buy a Power Gems ballast. Phil  could be filming you taking delivery –  there’s a thought.

Finally, thanks to Mike Pollard, Managing Director of PKE Lighting, one of the UK’s biggest lighting rental companies.
