Power Gems showcase latest ballast at February Freeze
Earlier this month Patrick packed a warm pair of socks and took Power Gems ballasts to Canada for the 16th annual February Freeze, hosted by William F White. The weather was a little kinder to us than in previous years, as Power Gems returned to take part in a significantly expanded technology showcase.
Over 1,000 production professionals came along to the William F White Centre on 7 February to test the new production tools available from over 40 of the world’s top vendors, including Power Gems.
Patrick was on hand to demonstrate the latest generation of HMI ballasts. Though he faced heavy competition for attention from the aerial acrobats – see right – you can just about make out the Power Gems stand. Patrick remained firmly grounded, giving visitors the chance to handle our innovative EB180PD, a ballast which operates on AC mains and DC battery power.
A big thank you to William F White’s Chairman, Paul Bronfman and colleagues who help to make this annual event an entertaining and rewarding experience.
After enjoying the delights of Toronto, we headed for Montreal and visited long-standing customers – Michel Trudel/Mel’s Cité du Cinéma Studios and Cinépool.
We’ve been supplying Michel Trudel with ballasts for over a decade, and as you can see Patrick always receives a warm Quebec welcome.
Judging by conversations with Michel Trudel and Cinépool, Montreal can expect to see many big productions coming to town, which bodes well for the year ahead.
